This book is from 1914 (and perhaps from England, given the spelling of
Honourable) so the chances of finding a copy are tiny and the chances of a
copy in good condition being affordable almost nonexistant. Plus I have to
wonder how good color reproductions could be in a book from 1914. I don't
actually need to have this book specifically, but it's the only collection
of Collier's work I've been able to find evidence of. What I want is a
book that includes good color reproductions of his "Lady Godiva" and "Lilith. Perhaps there's a good general book on the Pre-Raphaelites
that includes these (and hopefully Waterhouse's "Hylas and the
Nymphs" too), but I wasn't able to find one in some (non-exhaustive)
searching on Amazon. |

any evidence that the set (consisting of "Uncle Wiggily and the Apple
Dumpling", "Uncle Wiggily and the Canoe", "Uncle Wiggily and the
Peppermint", "Uncle Wiggily Learns to Dance", "Uncle Wiggily and the
Barber", "Uncle Wiggily and the Red Spots", "Uncle Wiggily and the
Sleds", and "Uncle Wiggily and the
Snow Plow") was ever reprinted (in multiple volumes or just one), but I
read these in the 70s, and I'm somewhat skeptical we had the original 1939
printing. |
