Not too many changes for this maze this year. One change is that there was
very little fog in the maze, which I think is unfortunate as mist definitely
helps with the creepy haunted house vibe. Another change was the addition of
a strobe (which is kind of silly) to the end of the shotgun of the guy at the
head of the dining table who's blown his head off, plus more gore on the wall
there. I was glad that that room wasn't devoid of monsters this year,
although they were still refraining from doing the original gag where they'd
mix in at the table with the dummies, which is a shame since I thought that
was a great suspense opportunity. One other minor change I noticed was that
all those hanging cloth strips just before the odd "fire" section at the end
of the maze (which I think it inherited from a previous maze) were gone.
Maybe they were deemed a fire hazard?
I did catch a few things in my video that I didn't catch in 2006, including that odd but cool twitching mass of zombies that periodically moves down a side hallway towards you (actually I don't remember seeing that before, so it may have been new), and a view of that corpse torso before it moves back behind its portrait. The monsters were also more abundant and enthusiastic this year. It was nice to finally see an axe murderer in 13 Axe Murder Manor (the girl at the end of the dining room).
One last thing is that there was goofiness with the maze name again this year, with the handheld line sign reading "13 AXE-MURDER MANSION". They also failed to trim the foliage hanging down in front of the permanent sign, making it difficult to read.
