A new maze for 2006. Along with Hatchet High, this was one of my least favorite mazes of Haunt '06. Also like Hatchet, it's a non-scary maze with mostly not-terribly-creative riffs on a good-gone-bad theme (or in the case of Vegas, not-so-good-gone-worse?). (Enough hyphenation for you there? :-))

The neon bar reminiscent of the one in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is cool, the skeletal wedding chapel is nicely done, the monster slots machines are kind of cute, the waitresses and marionette girls (the non-mannequin ones, I mean) are pretty (though when I went through they just sat or stood around talking to each other, not interacting with the mazegoers in any way -- not too different from the mannequins, really), the sort of demented version of Ren Hoëk that has apparently sawed the woman in half in the magic show room is... um, interesting, and the UV-lit fluorescent colors do a nice job of recreating the Vegas sense of spectacle (better with the ChromaDepth 3-D glasses), but other than that this maze doesn't do anything for me. I definitely miss the Malice in Wunderland maze that used to live in this location.

Sorry for the somewhat perfunctory nature of the shots in this video -- the line of people was moving through pretty quickly (I guess no one found this maze much worth lingering looks).

Per ThemeParkAdventure.com, Knott's will be rolling this maze out again in 2007. Perhaps they'll make some improvements this year, but I'm not too hopeful.
