While riding Space Mountain at Disneyland on June 25, 2006, the ride halted towards the end and the lights came on. We had recently seen the ride go into this halt mode due to someone exceeding the time limit to board, so that's probably what happened this time too. The cool thing is that when this happens, you not only get to ride the rest of the ride with the lights on, but then immediately afterwards you get a re-ride with the lights turned back off. Using the camera on my Treo 700p, I took some video of the lights-on portion, as well as a few photos (which you can click for the full-sized versions):
